In the beginning McGlynn Lumber was started by Jerry and Mary McGlynn in 1964. With great perseverance the small sawmill business evolved at the location North of Wingham on highway #4. In 1983 the business was sold to Bernie, the eldest of 9 sons and a daughter. In 1999 a second location was acquired on highway #9, halfway between Mildmay and Walkerton.

The location now has kiln dried lumber, dimension components and parts for the furniture industry. In 2004, South Bruce Flooring was opened as a retail outlet. A place for consumers to be able to purchase solid wood building materials at factory prices. From rough cut lumber to pre-finished hardwood floors, hardwood moulding, trim, stair systems and component parts. Bernie McGlynn Lumber has come full circle. From a renewable natural source to a finished product.
